1. Tian Tian Chicken Rice – Stall 10 & 11

Firstly, Tian Tian Chicken Rice. I think this is one of the first lists from anyone especially tourists for what to eat in Maxwell Food Center. Besides they offer delicious chicken rice, this stall also popular because being visited by food celebrities like Gordon Ramsey and Anthony Bourdain. After being review with them, many tourists all over the world come to try this dish.

However, I didn’t try this chicken rice because of the long queue even though i came not in peak hours.  But if you have free time, you should try this famous dish.

2. Ah Tai Hainanese Chicken Rice – Stall 07

For you who looking for chicken rice and don’t have time for queueing, you can try Ah Tai Hainanese Chicken Rice. Located not far from Tian Tian Chicken Rice, and mostly said the taste is similar to Tian Tian Chicken Rice. Probably because the cooker was a former cooker from Tian Tian Chicken Rice.

The rice is so fragrant and soft, good enough to just eat it with the chilli sauce. And i like their chilli sauce the most. The chicken was tender, melts in the mouth and very flavourful. If you come to Singapore, you should try to eat chicken rice dish for at least once.

3. Fuzhou Oyster Cake – Stall 05

For $2, you get a round shaped deep fried snack with oyster, minced meat, peanuts, coriander in a deep fried batter. The good taste comes when you take your first bite, taste a crisp skin on the outside then revealing a soft inside of oysters and minced pork. But just like other deep fried foods, sometimes it is too oily.

Specialise in roast meat, this stall sell three kind of roast meats which are char siu (barbecued pork), siu yok (roast pork belly) and roast duck. And for the carbo, you can choose between rice or noodle. The roasted pork belly had a nice crackling skin, and also the meat was so tender and juicy

5. Rojak, Popiah & Cockle – Stall 56

I tried the Rojak menu. It is a mix of traditional Asian fruit such as pineapple, jamboo,  cucumber and other exotic fruits served with an addictive spicy-sweet peanut sauce. The unique is besides fruit they served with beansprout also.
