La Roche-posay effaclar duo [+] is a moisturizer targeted towards acne prone skin people. It has a gel-cream texture that promised to ” Eliminates blemishes, imperfections & unclogs blocked pores, prevents the reappearance of acne, pimples, and zits”. It has active ingredients such as niacinamide, zinc, LHA and salicylic acid that’s known very good for acne. Addition to all, this brand also claims to be good for sensitive and allergic skin. One thing you must aware, effaclar duo have 2 version, France version, and US version. The one I talked about in this post is France version. In the US version, effaclar duo act as a spot treatment for acne, as it contains benzoyl peroxide.
When I first got it, I still have a lot of cystic acne and pustules, some whiteheads, and blackheads around my nose and cheek, also some red acne scars and very enlarged pores around my cheek. For me, I didn’t saw an immediate result. I wasn’t quite sure about this product. I remembered thinking, “Okay, I’ll just finish this tube..” However, I keep coming back to this and I’ve already finished my 5th tube!
It has a very light consistency and a subtle scent to it. It quickly absorbed into the skin without feeling tacky. I think this moisturizer best for combination to oily skin. Normal skin can use this in more hot/humid weather. It might be stinging a bit if you have wound in your face. In terms of layering this moisturizer with another product, please be cautious. This moisturizer already has active ingredients, make sure to not layer it with products that have ingredients that potentially can clash. I find it’s not a problem to layer it with some moisturizing serum such as Innisfree Green Tea Essence or Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair II.
I noticed I have a less clogged pore, therefore, less acne appear. As for acne scar and enlarged pores, I don’t see much difference. The scar slowly disappears but it takes a pretty good amount of time. You’ll rarely see the difference if you only using effaclar duo to fade the scar away. Overall this is a good product that I’ll always repurchase it as long as I still have acne, or if I find a better product in the future.
Thank you for your time.. Have a good day… ^^
