If you live in tropical country, you know that you’ll get the sun exposure everyday all year. Surely you’ve read, that sun can be beneficial because it gives us vitamin D which is very important to metabolise calcium in our body so we can use it. But to many sunlight can also be harmful. It can cause premature ageing, also increases our chances of getting skin cancer. One way of prevention is to use sunscreen or sunblock.
Sunscreen that I want to review this time is from Drunk Elephant, one of the brand new launching in 2009. Another advantage of this brand is from the beginning they have written that they do not use harmful materials in their products such as silicone, chemical screens, sensitizing colorants / perfumes, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), essential oils, and drying alcohols
As written on their website:
"This physical sunscreen is formulated without any chemical sunscreens, which can be sensitizing and not as beneficial to skin as the naturally-derived alternative, zinc oxide. Umbra™ is non-irritating, non-sensitizing and totally free of fragrance and essential oils, suitable for all skin tones and types, including the most sensitive." -drunkedelephant.com-
Back of the Product: Written Material and How to Use this Product
Texture The Product is Quite Liquid and Easy to Absorbed
This sunscreen contains 20% active zinc oxide, a lot of antioxidant that’s good for our skin, and categorised as physical sunscreen, so you better be prepared for the white cast. However, for me it’s not a major problems, because I feel like if you wait for the product to be absorbed, then the white cast will be subside. If you wear it a lot, it will feel slightly greasy, and it’s better to wait for a few minutes before you put something on top of it. It has 90ml products in the tube so it will last for long awhile. The added value again is that this sunscreen does not make my face red or cause acne as it usually happens when I’m wearing some other sunscreen therefore its great for sensitive skin.
So for you who are looking for a sunscreen reference, the product of Drunk Elephant is worth a try. Owh yes, this sunscreen is also included as Allure best beauty 2015.
